Danica, Full Spectrum Doula and Childbirth Educator

Danica is not only a devoted wife and mom of three children, but she is also extremely passionate about black maternal and infant health.

She is the co-director of Northern NJ's community doula program as well as a Community Health Worker Supervisor and birth advocate.  She is trained as a birth doula through DONA Int’l. and certified as a full spectrum doula by Uzzazi Village.  She's compassionate, understanding, and is especially determined to help new parents have a positive postpartum experience. Danica is also very passionate about community health and connecting families to resources to ensure the WHOLE person/family’s needs are met.

Danica has experienced many different pregnancy journeys and birth experiences, including a vaginal birth, miscarriages, a stillbirth, an ectopic pregnancy and two cesareans. Her own experiences and trauma ignited her passion to support women on their own pregnancy and birth journeys. Danica’s kindness and empathy has allowed her to assist women during a very transformational time in their lives. Danica’s true passion lies in helping black/brown women find their voice and gain knowledge to advocate for themselves and their desires for pregnancy and birth. After having her daughter in 2020, Danica is now focusing exclusively on postpartum care. She truly believes that the fourth trimester is a very sensitive transition period that requires new moms to be supported like never before. She incorporates aspects such as nutrition, realistic scheduling with multiple children, prioritizing rest and self-care as well as learning how to unburden yourself from “mom guilt”.
