birth doula services

What to expect:   
A doula who is knowledgeable, attentive and who will provide support and answer all your questions related to pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Your doula will also provide recommendations and referrals to OB/Midwives, birth centers, and community services as needed.

• 1 free virtual consultation: On this discovery call/video chat we will meet to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and decide if Labor of Love will be a good fit for your doula care. 

• 2 prenatal visits: These can take place in the home or virtually to discuss topics such as creating your birth plan, comfort measures for labor, planning for your hospital stay or birth center visit, planning for postpartum care best practices, what to expect when you bring home your new family member, safety planning and childproofing, resource referrals. 

  • Your doula will be available to you via phone call or text message as well throughout your pregnancy to answer any questions or concerns that may arise. 

• Labor Support: Your doula will help provide a tranquil environment tailored to your needs, ensure your birth plan is adhered to as much as possible and provide hands-on comfort measures as you labor. Lactation support available upon request.

• Guidance and self-advocacy  

• Partner support: Labor of Love doulas also support partners by answering any questions or addressing any concerns that may arise. When desired, we incorporate partners into the care plan. We also help partners with logistical preparations inside the home.

• 2 Postpartum visits : After you arrive home from the birthing facility of your choice we will conduct 1-2 visits within the first six weeks to ensure you and baby are adjusting well and to address any family needs. Lactation support available upon request

Postpartum Doula Services

What to expect:   
A doula who will be respectful of your home, time and needs. Postpartum support will look different for each person but can include help with infant care, breastfeeding support, help creating schedules for multiple children, meal planning and prep, or time for self-care and rest.  

• 1 free virtual consultation: On this discovery call/video chat we will meet to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and decide if Labor of Love will be a good fit for your postpartum doula care. 

• Postpartum visits: Upon your discovery call we will determine how many visits/hours you need for your postpartum care. Whether you need 1 visit to go over basic infant care, or extensive care that consists of several hours over the course of many weeks, we can accommodate you. 

  • Your doula will be available to you via phone call or text message during the duration of your postpartum care service to answer any questions or concerns that may arise. 

• Partner support: We also work with partners who desire to help with postpartum and infant care. Our doulas will work with partners to help them figure out the best way they can offer support to the new mom and baby.
